BSA Senior Vice President of Global Policy Aaron Cooper Comments on AI and Privacy Senate Legislation

While Washington wanted to pass a number of big-ticket tech items this cycle, thorny issues like spectrum could fall to the wayside as the clock ticks to November. Many industry groups are now focusing their attention on Senate legislation related to two key areas — AI and privacy.
“The question now is what legislation can both make a real difference and is achievable this year,” said Aaron Cooper, senior vice president of global policy at BSA | The Software Alliance. Cooper told MT that Congress “seems more inclined to address discrete AI issues for now.”
