BSA Submits Feedback to MeitY on Draft DPDP Rules

A key area of contention is Rule 12(4), which empowers the government to mandate data localisation for Significant Data Fiduciaries (SDFs).
ITI, Nasscom, BSA, and IAMAI have all expressed strong reservations about this provision. They argue that it contradicts DPDPA's "open by default" approach to international data transfers.
