BSA Urges Changes in California AI Impact Assessment Bill
Inside AI Policy
By Charlie Mitchell
BSA | The Software Alliance Senior Vice President of US Government Relations Craig Albright outlines concerns about the workability of California's AI impact assessment bill and urges revisions.
“BSA is concerned the latest version of AB2930 does not make the necessary changes to be workable in practice and opposes its passage unless it is amended. BSA urges members of the California Senate to continue revising the legislation to help ensure it creates clarity for the different types of actors in the AI ecosystem,” senior vice president of U.S. government relations Craig Albright said in an Aug. 27 statement on the impact assessment bill by Assembly member Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (D).
