BSA Urges White House to Advocate for Streamlined Standards, International Engagement

The Business Software Alliance is urging the White House in its artificial intelligence action plan to promote streamlined standards, greater investment in research and development, strategic international engagement, and use of current US copyright law to address hot-button issues around training AI models.
“We encourage the Administration to take the bold steps necessary to promote both the development and adoption of AI technology in the US. Broadly, we recommend that the Administration advocate one, harmonized, flexible, and workable standard for AI governance that will give companies in all industries confidence to adopt AI solutions to grow and create jobs,” BSA says in comments submitted March 12.
“The potential for different rules from each regulatory agency and all 50 states is confusing and inefficient for both developers and adopters,” BSA says.
