C-Suite Awards: Victoria Espinel
Washington Business Journal, December 5, 2019

Each year, the Washington Business Journal recognizes the region’s top chief executive officers with the CEO of the Year and C-Suite Awards. BSA President and CEO Victoria Espinel was honored with a 2019 C-Suite Award.
From Washington Business Journal: “Way before Victoria Espinel was president and CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance, and before she was working in the White House advising President Barack Obama on intellectual property, she was an unpaid summer intern at the Department of Commerce delving into very early internet policy issues. ”I thought it was fascinating. I thought it was the future,” Espinel said.
In 2019, Espinel is still peering into the future, at the forefront of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain. Her duties as CEO of the D.C. trade association for the global software industry span everything from educating policymakers on the digital landscape to creating responsible global consensus on technology policy. One big recent win is September’s U.S.-Japan digital trade agreement, which she hopes will set a framework for future deals across the globe.”
