Raimondo Steps Into Trump Trade War Aftermath

Raimondo told Senate Commerce it would be a “top priority” to wrap up negotiations with Europe over a privacy agreement that allows businesses to transmit their data across the Atlantic. (The last two were shot down in court.)

She’ll face pressure from business groups to get it done fast. In a statement, Victoria Espinel, the CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance, urged negotiators on both sides to “work quickly to craft a stable and sustainable data transfer mechanism” that creates few barriers for companies.
