Tech Industry Comes Around to 'Strong' Privacy Bill, But Senators Still Skeptical

“We believe it’s a floor,” said Victoria Espinel, president of The Software Alliance. “We believe strong federal privacy legislation could go beyond California, and improve on California.” ... Aaron Cooper, the vice president of global policy at The Software Alliance, said his organization’s position hasn’t changed over the last eight months. “Our members really do feel strongly about having a good, strong federal law,” he told National Journal.
