US, EU Reach Preliminary Deal To Ensure Trans-Atlantic Data Flows
Inside US Trade, March 25, 2022
The US and the European Union have reached an agreement in principle on a successor to the Privacy Shield Framework to enable trans-Atlantic data flows almost two years after they began negotiations on the matter, the two sides announced on Friday.
The US and the EU are "sending a message to the rest of the world that a strong transatlantic agreement will help increase trust in the responsible movement of data across borders," said Victoria Espinel, the CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance, which describes itself as the leading advocate for the global software companies.
