BSA Applauds Passage of Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

WASHINGTON – November 8, 2021 – BSA | The Software Alliance welcomes the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The bill, which would provide much-needed funding for America’s roads, bridges, and transportation systems, also represents a pivotal opportunity for the US to adopt digital transformation.

“The passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is an important step forward for the United States. We encourage the US government to take advantage of digital manufacturing and forward-looking technologies in every aspect of its infrastructure spending. Embracing digital transformation can yield profound benefits in sustainability, inclusive growth, and workforce development,” said Craig Albright, Vice President, Legislative Strategy at BSA. “We’re also pleased the bill dedicates $65 billion to broadband infrastructure and access. Ensuring that everyone in the US has access to technology and the internet is critical to helping more people take advantage of opportunities in the rapidly growing software economy. This investment will go a long way towards closing the digital divide.”
