BSA Statement on 2024 Election Results

BSA | The Software Alliance issued a statement following President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance’s victory in the 2024 US presidential election, urging the incoming administration and leaders in Congress to pursue a tech policy agenda that prioritizes US leadership and innovation.

“President-elect Trump has an opportunity to build upon a policy foundation established across multiple administrations to ensure that the United States leads on technology policy and innovation. The incoming Trump administration can spur the development of stronger cybersecurity solutions, advance high standards for cross-border data transfers, and ensure the US leadership on artificial intelligence (AI) policy to empower innovators and create a level playing field that allows businesses and consumers to easily develop and adopt AI.”

“At the same time, the incoming Republican majority in the US Senate can work with US House leaders to build upon the bipartisan tech policy development on issues like privacy and AI advanced over the past two years. With state and federal lawmakers poised to act on technology policy in 2025, BSA will plan to work with leaders in both parties to provide constructive input and help identify a common and workable approach.”
