BSA Voices Support for the Consumer Data Privacy and Security Act

WASHINGTON – April 30, 2021 – BSA | The Software Alliance applauds the reintroduction of the Consumer Data Privacy and Security Act by Senator Jerry Moran. This legislation is a welcome addition to the ongoing discussion around how best to protect consumer data privacy.

“Consumers must be able to trust that their data is being used responsibly. This legislation is a step in the right direction and a welcome contribution as Congress moves towards establishing a federal privacy standard,” said Brandon Consolvo, Director, Legislative Strategy at BSA | The Software Alliance. “BSA looks forward to continuing our work with Senator Moran and others as they build toward bipartisan legislation that establishes clear, modern consumer privacy protections.”
