BSA Welcomes AI Adoption Focus in US-Japan Tech Memorandum
WASHINGTON – Business Software Alliance Senior Vice President of Global Policy Aaron Cooper issued the following statement regarding the Memorandum of Cooperation Regarding the Technology Prosperity Deal between the United States and Japan:
“The Business Software Alliance welcomes the Memorandum of Cooperation on technology announced between the US and Japan, which will help to accelerate enterprise AI adoption and advancing secure, innovation-friendly quantum technologies that serve both economies.
BSA welcomes the memorandum’s specific focus on digital workforce development, trusted data use, and governance frameworks that promote responsible AI deployment — goals that align with BSA’s Enterprise AI Adoption Agenda for Japan. This collaboration reflects Japan’s strategic opportunity to enhance competitiveness through enterprise AI and cloud adoption, while ensuring Japan is well-served by technology.
BSA further welcomes the deeper coordination on quantum innovation outlined in the memorandum, which is essential to realizing the benefits of quantum computing in both the US and Japan. BSA looks forward to continued engagement to ensure AI and quantum technologies strengthen economic growth and shared prosperity across both countries.”
