BSA Welcomes AI Executive Order's Call to Advance Federal Legislation
WASHINGTON – Business Software Alliance Senior Vice President of US Government Relations Craig Albright issued the following statement regarding the White House executive order seeking to preempt state laws regulating artificial intelligence:
“The Business Software Alliance welcomes the emphasis on setting a clear, consistent, and national approach to AI policy as sought by the White House executive order. BSA has long called for a national approach to AI policy because it supports the development of trustworthy AI and promotes broader AI adoption across industries.
BSA is pleased the president’s executive order directs the White House to prepare a legislative proposal to establish a national framework for AI. The best way to remove barriers to AI innovation and adoption is through legislation grounded in areas of consensus. BSA looks forward to working with the administration and bipartisan leaders in Congress to achieve this goal."
