BSA Welcomes Bill to Support Quantum Computing Advancement
WASHINGTON – Business Software Alliance Senior Vice President of Global Policy Aaron Cooper issued the following statement following the introduction of legislation to reauthorize and expand upon the National Quantum Initiative:
“The Business Software Alliance welcomes the introduction of the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act and applauds Sens. Todd Young and Maria Cantwell for their bipartisan leadership on this issue. This legislation would both reauthorize the National Quantum Initiative and expand on it in important ways, including through its support for international cooperation with strategic allies and for US competitiveness on research, development, and deployment of quantum technologies. The broad and bipartisan list of cosponsors sends a clear signal of Congress’s shared commitment to advancing quantum computing.”
BSA published its first quantum policy agenda in 2025, called for reauthorization of the National Quantum Initiative, and similarly engaged other leading economies on constructive quantum policies.
