Concluding a Sound Safe Harbor Agreement Remains Principal Goal of BSA | The Software Alliance

WASHINGTON — February 1, 2016 — Following remarks today from EU Justice Commissioner Vera Jourova, BSA | The Software Alliance announced its continuing support of ongoing Safe Harbor negotiations:

"We and our member companies are encouraged the EU and US continue to work on a new Safe Harbor Agreement," noted Victoria A. Espinel, President and CEO of BSA.

"All indications are that significant progress has been made," she added. "This is essential, given the importance of Safe Harbor as a critical step toward addressing key privacy issues and ensuring the free flow of data across borders. We remain optimistic that a positive outcome will be announced soon, and look forward to learning more details in the days ahead."
