Tham Shen Hong Joins BSA as Manager of Policy in APAC

SINGAPORE – October 25, 2021 – Tham Shen Hong joins BSA | The Software Alliance today as Manager of Policy – APAC. Based in Singapore, Tham will work closely with BSA’s members and policy team to advance BSA’s key policy priorities in the APAC region.

“Tham is a welcome addition to BSA’s growing global team as we continue to advocate for policies that instill trust in technology and make digital transformation possible,” said Victoria Espinel, President and CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance. “His experience with Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry will be invaluable as we work to institute forward-looking digital trade policies, protect cross-border data transfers, and promote data privacy.”

Prior to joining BSA, Tham was a Senior Assistant Director in Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), where he held portfolios in Digital Economy, Investments, and Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). In this role, he was involved in drafting and negotiating the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA)Singapore’s first digital economy agreement. Tham also led Singapore’s investment negotiations with China and Mercosur and worked closely with MTI’s senior management and Ministers to represent Singapore’s economic interests in APEC. Before his stint in public service, Tham practiced as a litigation lawyer, with a focus on trust and property disputes. Tham graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2017.
