The Business Software Alliance recognizes the importance of privacy protections because our members create the business-to-business products that help companies across the economy innovate and grow. As a result, privacy and security are a core part of BSA members’ operations. 

BSA’s Global Privacy Priorities recognize key elements of strong privacy and data protection laws. These laws should: (1) create rights for consumers over their personal data, (2) impose obligations on businesses to handle that data responsibly, (3) create a clear and centralized enforcement mechanism, and (4) support an interoperable approach to privacy protections.
