BSA Response to the European Commission Public Consultation on the Digital Fitness Check

BSA’s response welcomes the European Commission’s Digital Fitness Check and broader simplification agenda, arguing that EU digital rules should be consolidated, clarified, and better aligned to support competitiveness and innovation. While supporting high standards in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, cloud services, and data protection, BSA calls for a more targeted, risk-based approach, reduced duplication across laws, clearer rules on cloud switching and cross-border data flows, and stronger coordination across EU institutions. Overall, the response urges simplification and legal certainty to ensure Europe’s digital framework remains workable and innovation-friendly.
