UK: BSA Submission on the UK International Data Transfers Guidance

BSA recommends that the ICO ensure the availability of the full spectrum of UK GDPR-compliant transfer mechanisms, including IDTAs, TRAs, Binding Corporate Rules, Data Bridges, Codes of Conduct, and Certifications. BSA urges the ICO to provide worked examples and concrete guidance for using IDTAs, TRAs, and other transfer tools, and clarify new standards introduced under the new UK Data Use and Access Act. BSA also encourages clarity on legitimate interest as a basis for transfers and promotes global alignment of data transfer frameworks. In addition, BSA supports full UK participation in the Global CBPR system and calls for continued government resourcing to develop scalable and legally certain international transfer tools.
