US: BSA Comments to CPPA on Revised Proposed Regulations on Cybersecurity Audits, Risk Assessments, and Automated Decisionmaking Technology

BSA recommends that the California Privacy Protection Agency revise proposed rules to better align automated decisionmaking regulations with practical implementation needs, streamline cybersecurity audit obligations by recognizing global standards like ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and adopt a flexible, harmonized approach to risk assessments. BSA also advises limiting California-specific obligations to avoid fragmentation of global compliance efforts.
