Vietnam: BSA Comments on the Draft Law on Artificial Intelligence

BSA filed the following comments on Vietnam’s Draft Law on Artificial Intelligence. BSA urged the Ministry of Science and Technology to take a risk-based approach to AI governance, focusing obligations on high-risk AI systems and differentiating the roles and responsibilities of AI system developers, deployers, and where appropriate, integrators, eliminate data localization requirements, and provide more time for industry consultations, including by ensuring an adequate transition period between the publication of implementing rules and their entry into force.
