Adam J. Coates

Deputy General Counsel

Adam Coates oversees BSA’s worldwide legal, corporate, and compliance affairs. For BSA’s compliance & enforcement team, Coates provides legal, strategic and data-driven analytical advice and works to improve these programs around the world. 

Prior to joining BSA, Coates was a litigator in the Washington, DC office of O’Melveny & Myers LLP, an internationally prominent law firm, representing and counseling clients around the world on a diverse array of litigation, enforcement and regulatory compliance matters.

Coates holds both a law degree and a bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania, and is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Coates is based in BSA's Washington, DC, office.
