Virtual Event: APEC Privacy Roundtable

December 17, 2020, 9:00-10:00 a.m. SGT

Speaker: Eunice Lim, Senior Manager, Policy — APAC, BSA | The Software Alliance

COVID-19 and the ensuing acceleration of digital technology adoption has surfaced fresh concerns across APEC economies for the adoption of digital technologies in a way that preserves consumer trust, safety, and privacy.

As regulators across the APEC region begin to grapple with new technologies and the emerging regulatory demands for Data Privacy, there is keen interest to revitalize the conversation on maintaining regional coherence in Data Privacy regulations. Ahead of the official kick-off of APEC's 2021 activities, ABAC USA the National Center for APEC (NCAPEC), in partnership with BSA and Microsoft, hosts a roundtable to encourage broad consensus on pertinent topics relating to personal data protection and privacy and to explore options for the APEC 2021 Agenda to strengthen privacy regulatory coherence.

Speakers include:

  • Evelyn Goh, Director, International Policy & Strategy, Infocomm Media Development Authority
  • Eunice Lim, Senior Manager, Policy — APAC, BSA | The Software Alliance
  • Alex Parle, Executive Vice President at National Center, APEC
