Tech industry advocate group BSA | The Software Alliance is opposing third-party audits of artificial intelligence models, saying the results are meaningless without universal standards to evaluate AI systems against. “In order to audit something, you need to have a standard,” said Aaron Cooper, BSA’s senior vice president of global policy. “Until there's a standard to audit against, an audit wouldn't have any meaning. Whereas an impact assessment is something that a company can do today to make sure that they're taking steps to mitigate the risk of harm,” he told Morning Tech.
