BSA on WH AI Commitment Announcement

WASHINGTON — BSA | The Software Alliance issued the following statement regarding today's White House announcement regarding safeguards for responsible artificial intelligence:

"Realizing the benefits of artificial intelligence and generative AI requires public trust and confidence that these revolutionary technologies can be developed and deployed responsibly. We appreciate the administration’s efforts today to help promote responsible AI.

Today's announcement can help to form some of the architecture for regulatory guardrails around AI, along with proposals advanced by BSA to set rules for high-risk AI systems that involve concerns around bias and discrimination. Enterprise software companies look forward to working with the administration and Congress to enact legislation that addresses the risks associated with artificial intelligence and promote its benefits."
