BSA Statement on Cybersecurity Management Initiatives at DHS Cybersecurity Summit
WASHINGTON – July 31, 2018 – BSA | The Software Alliance welcomes two initiatives announced by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at its National Cybersecurity Summit today. DHS’s announcement of a National Risk Management Initiative and a task force on supply chain security will help advance improving security across the Internet ecosystem. Software has a critical role to play in risk management and supply chain security. At BSA, we are working to expand the adoption of industry best practices, such as security-by-design principles and secure development lifecycles. Software contributes more than $1 trillion to the US economy, supports more than 10 million US jobs, and affects every sector from manufacturing to agriculture. Addressing software cybersecurity is critical to the success of broader efforts to improve risk management and strengthen supply chain security.
