BSA Submits Comments on UK Comprehensive Spending Review
BRUSSELS – September 24, 2020 – BSA | The Software Alliance today submitted comments on the United Kingdom’s Comprehensive Spending Review.
“The UK is navigating its response to the Covid-19 crisis while also preparing to complete its exit from the EU in just a few months’ time. Against this historic backdrop, the UK remains one of the most innovative markets in the world, and the UK Comprehensive Spending Review provides an important opportunity to fully embrace the digital transformation, help rebuild the economy, and create a long-term competitive edge for UK businesses,” said Isabelle Roccia, Senior Manager, Policy – EMEA at BSA.
“The enterprise software industry, which accounts for at least £145 billion of total UK value-added growth, is opening up almost limitless opportunities to tackle problems in new ways that improve people’s lives,” Roccia added. “BSA has offered five concrete recommendations that can help the UK Government transition to a remote economy, responsibly adopt software technologies, enable workforce development, expand broadband access, and reach new international markets.”
“BSA looks forward to working with the UK Government to support its short-term recovery efforts and long-term growth and prosperity as it redefines its economic and geopolitical role on the global stage,” Roccia said.
