The letter recommends targeted transparency requirements, machine-readable content provenance standards, narrowly tailored safeguards for frontier AI models that pose national security risks, and a single national AI standard that preempts a patchwork of state laws. It also calls on Congress to accelerate AI adoption by investing in research and development, workforce training, AI standards, and initiatives such as the National AI Research Resource and the Center for AI Standards and Innovation.
