DE: EuGH kippt Rechtsgrundlage für Datentransfers in die USA

Die EU-Kommission hatte sich bereits auf das ablehnende Urteil vorbereitet: 'Ich habe am Dienstag bereits mit US-Wirtschaftsminister Wilbur Ross darüber gesprochen: Wir müssen uns auf alle Eventualitäten einstellen und eine Antwort bereithalten', sagte Kommissionsvize Vera Jourová am Mittwoch dem Handelsblatt.
Thomas Boué, Direktor beim Industrieverband Business Software Alliance, zeigte sich erleichtert, dass der EuGH zumindest die Standardvertragsklauseln bestätigt habe. Die Annullierung des Privacy Shield bedeute aber, dass "eines der wenigen und vertrauenswürdigsten Wege für den Datentransfer über den Atlantik verschlossen wurde". Damit erschwere das Urteil den Online-Handel zwischen EU und USA.
