Despite significant progress towards a Digital Single Market, legislative clarity and coherence remain a challenge. The upcoming term of office of the EU Commission offers an excellent opportunity for a comprehensive assessment of existing digital legislation and to prioritize effective implementation over additional, potentially obstructive regulation. The EU's overarching goal should be to put the puzzle together right, ensure high standards of consumer protection, exploit the full potential of the Digital Single Market, and position itself as a digital leader globally.
